MP Gillian Keegan Visits Southbourne Junior School!

Before Easter, we learnt all about climate change in year 5. We researched both the impacts and the ways we can help to slow it down so that animals and their habitats have a chance to adapt to the inevitable changes our planet is facing.

The children are incredibly passionate about climate change and so wrote formal, persuasive letters to Gillian Keegan (our local MP) to persuade her to put forward their arguments in parliament. Mrs Keegan was so impressed by their letters that she not only wrote a reply, but came to visit the children to answer their questions in person. There were thought-provoking questions asked by the children and in-depth responses given by Mrs Keegan. Well done year 5!
