All parents are automatically members of the PTA and are welcome to attend open meetings. If you would like to volunteer to help with any events, have great funding ideas or would like to become more involved in the decisions of events and fundraising please contact the school office with your name and email which we will pass to the PTA chair.

The PTA funds have hugely benefited the children at the Junior school over the years. PTA funds were used to equip our children's kitchen for weekly cooking sessions for small groups of children, as well as equipping our green fingered gardening groups, who keep our grounds tidy as well as planting vegetables and plants around the school site. Some of these vegetables are then used in our cooking sessions. Keeping both of these curriculum areas resourced well is an important part of our everyday curriculum in Southbourne Juniors.

We also use PTA funds to aid in part payment of other memorable experiences to embed learning such as theatre trips, visitors to the school and specialist curriculum days.

The Year 6 leavers' autograph books are supplied by the PTA, the children really appreciate receiving these as they love to collect messages of good luck and thoughts for the future as well as memories from the past.

Much of the monies raised also supports larger projects such as the reading nook situated on the adventure playground. Children can use the nook to chat with friends and read fiction and non-fiction books whilst lounging on bean bags or soft mats. The books are replaced every year to provide a variety of reading material and ensure the books are up to date.
